Food Waste Friday, January 13, 2012

Hello!
Not much waste here on the home front- I think I'm finally getting the hang of this thing!
We only wasted a bit of pbj that hubby made for the kids' lunch and they barely nibbled on...

and a few little satsuma oranges that were already bad when we bought the bag. It's so hard to tell when they're all smushed together in a mesh bag if they are all good or not! Thankfully we only lost two or three out of a 4 lb bag.
That's it!
Not too shabby. :)
What did you waste this week?

And those mesh bags are usually the color of the fruit or veggie in them. That makes even harder to determine what you're getting. I find it frustrating.

So do I! I wish they'd at least use a different color bag, of something. Although I've bought 2 or 3 bags of those oranges this winter and those were the first to have bad ones in them, so I can't complain TOO much. ;)

We have a hard time with kiddo leftovers, too :). Sad to say we wasted much more than you this week. I particpated in the link up, too.

Kiddos can be so fickle! I try to put their leftovers in the fridge for later, but more often than not they don't get eaten. I try to cut back on their waste by giving them smaller portions (they can always ask for more!) and then try not to let them eat anything else til they finish their leftovers. I often forget though, and just give them another snack before I think about it. We're sloowwwly getting better, I think. Maybe. :)
