Food Waste Friday, February 3, 2012

Guess what?

For the first time since I've started participating in

FoodWasteFriday

We are.
WASTE FREE!!!

I am so excited. :)

We managed to eat all of our leftovers this week and haven't wasted anything beyond the little uneaten bits that end up on the kid's plates, which I don't count.

Woo Hoo!!

In other news, I have a new camera on it's way to my house- I ended up getting the Olympus from Costco.

check out the details here

The Rebel was just too big and a bit intimidating for me, I feel like I need to get my feet wet with photography a bit more and learn more about it before taking that big of a leap into the world of aperture and ISO. ( I still don't know quite what those mean.)
I got to play with the Olympus at Best Buy (not that exact one, but a similar model) and really liked it. It seems like just what I want- a nice camera with almost DSLR capabilities without the bulk and complexity. It also has fun "art" settings on it that I'm looking forward to playing with; like "grainy film, pinhole, soft focus". I'm SO looking forward to taking beautiful pictures for the blog, and apologize for the sub-par ones this far. ;)

How did you do on food waste this week?
I'm scared that because I did so well this week I'll do terrible next week. Let's hope not!
Happy Friday!

YES!! :) I can't believe it took me 9 months to get one, but I'll take it. :)Maybe I can be a little more consistent from now on with not wasting food.
